Rhys’ Media Files

One of Rhys’ Iraq buddies Sgt. Jeromy Goodnight, sent us these MPG Movie files he took while in Iraq. He took 100’s of hours of film during his deployment and spent the time searching for little tidbits of Rhys. Most are very short and show just “guys being guys” but since we had NO, ZERO, Zilcj, Nada, films of Rhys they are a treasure to us.

Jeromy wanted us to know that while they all had a good respect for the dangers they faced every time they went “outside the wire” , they were not Always Scared! During their down time they were just a bunch of guys thrown together in a distant sand pit, making the best of it. I hope you enjoy them. most are between 13 – 25 MB and even at DSL speed may take a few minutes to load. I will work on transfering them to a better format in the future.

NOTE: There is some “soldier language” in most of these that may not be totally appropriate, sorry.

Klasno & Moreno – 22MB, just fooling around.

Battle Buddies – 7 MB, I got your Back, where are you anyway?

Muffin Man – 13MB, Somebody please send these guys some decent goodies.

Lazzzzy! – 14MB, Awe come on Goodnight, give a guy a break.

Pee Break – 25MB, Gotta go!

Running Man – 9MB, Goofball Rhys

  1. These videos are sooo great! I am so glad you have them!! It is nice to hear his voice again and see him. These videos are so funny and really show his personality in the short time they are. Love them! Im really upset though, I take so many photos and videos now, but when I was ounger I didnt and I wish I did. He gave me the best and most fun childhood anyone could ask for and I have so many great memories. <3

  3. I remember when Lynn brought him to work at IRC. He was so funny and cool.. My favorite was a nice long sleeve pink shirt he wore with a tie. Rhys was always laughing. He had a kind heart. I am glad that Lynn and Michael have this Memorial for him.

Take Care and God Bless to you Both.

  4. I love looking back on these videos… they all remind me of things that happend here on the street. He acted the same way. 🙂 Although, I could hear his laugh from down the street and sometimes he would just walk in our house like he lived here and eat our pizza and get soda (of course) all by himself without asking. My mom just got used to it, but if anyone else tried to, we were like, “ask first please.” hahahaha

Rhys was like my big brother.

  6. After watching these videos, I felt I had to post a comment. I was a close friend of one of your neighbors. I was there often and would hang out, play nighttag and skate, of course, with everyone when I was over. Over time, like many childhood friends, I lost touch with everyone on the street. I watch the youtube video of Rhys from time to time. I’m grateful you shared these with everyone, they are such a great pleasure to watch. I was not extremely close to Rhys, but I knew him for a short while years ago, although I wish it had been longer. He was an amazing, handsome, fun-loving and brave person; and his “contagious laugh” everyone talks about is nothing short of the truest thing I’ve ever heard.

Once again, thank you for the videos and the enitre website for that matter.
